Layla Khons

Pure blood Vampire from birth, she comes from ancient Egypt. Layla is the product of the Egyptian deity Osiris and his competition with his brother Set, the deity of war.

She is the the middle child of 7 other ancient Egyptian vampires, though out of those only 3 learned to survive the burning daylight of the African sun.  Because of this, many of her siblings hate her out of jealousy and envy.

Each earned a place in the construction of Egypt but few ever took up the reigns as Pharaoh. Layla claimed the throne after a fight with her sister Amunet who later proclaimed herself to the humans as a goddess after she learned to walk in the daylight like Layla.

Layla remains fiercely loyal to her people.

Layla Khons (Born at Night, God of the Moon)

Race: Vampire

Born: 200 AD.

Awakened: 200-400AD, 600-800AD, 1500-1700AD,2000-current

Appearance: Bronzed skin with delicate features. Eyes of amber, which obviously shift between either deep brown or crimson red. She is 5'10 with gentle, plump curves in two places and rather slim in the rest. This agile female holds the posture and grace of a queen but the cunning eyes of a prediator. Exotic, angelic features grace the smooth edges of her face, which could have been carved by the gods

Face claim: lara scandar

Lord of Egypt: Layla is empowered by her home land, so long as it belongs to her people. Its very existence and culture provides her strength. When she resides within the land, she may command great feats and even bestow blessings to her people. This wanes when Egypt is conquered or she is far from home.

Regeneration: Like her mother, Layla can regenerate quite a lot of damage, however if her heart is pierced by the blood of Set or her heart is destroyed with fire, she will die. The more engorged she is, the faster and easier it is for her to heal. She can use her blood to heal others of conventional diseases and wounds, unlike her mother who could do so at a whim with magic.

Day Walking: This is a trait learned over time, which took a lot of exposure to the sun and suffering. Layla wanted to be with her people in the Egyptian sun, working for the betterment of her people. In her early years, this was difficult to sustain for more than an hour or so, but over time it became a simple debuff to her energy and strength.

Denser flesh and bone: Isis' flesh and bone were two and a half times denser than human tissue, her daughters are as well. This helps facilitate the speed at which she can move, often appearing like a blur to the average human eye.

Transformation: Isis could transform into a bird, Layla takes the form of a Nightjar.

Resurrection: Isis could resurrect the dead or facilitate them in the afterlife. This is where Layla’s strain of vampirism stems. She resurrects her “children” with her blood. They are stronger than men, much like herself, and more durable. But they are bound to the night, their regenerative resources requiring development with age. None of her kin have learned to walk in the light, much like most of her siblings are still bound to the darkness.
*It is unclear if Layla can reproduce naturally.*

Magic: Layla can perform spells, though the energy to enact must come from elsewhere. Either sacrifice, objects, or she must be at the heart of her people, drawing from their overall resources to perform great feats.
